10 February, 2025 15:40

Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has opened up about challenges fast bowlers would have to face on bowling at the batting friendly pitches during the ICC Champions Trophy.

While addressing to media at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, the pacer said that the pitches may not offer notable support to pace bowlers.

He said maintaining proper line, length, and discipline can help create pressure on opposing teams.

Commenting on the upcoming high-octane clash against India, Shah said that the team hasn’t specifically discussed the fixture yet.

“Winning one match isn’t our ultimate goal,” Shah remarked, adding that success in the tournament would depend on handling pressure effectively, particularly in high-stakes matches.

Naseem stressed that Pakistan would approach the India match like any other game in the tournament, maintaining their standard game plan and strategy.

He also shed light on Pakistan’s recent performances, noting that Pakistan have come close to victories in several recent matches.

“We’ve identified that certain mistakes have cost us crucial games. As players, we must learn from past experiences,” he stated.

Moreover, he Shah expressed confidence in the team’s potential to perform well in the eight team tournament.
