Petrol hits Rs1200 per litre, diesel unavailable

Petrol price to see another drop in Pakistan from Oct 1
In a bizarre turn of events, petrol per litre price in Kurram has hit Rs,1200 due to the prolonged closure of roads, according to media reports.
The district has been facing security concerns since November 2024 and it has led to the blockage of land access to the area.
This resulted in limited vehicle movement and shortages of essential goods, including food and petroleum products.
According to locals, petrol pump owners are charging arbitrary prices for petrol, and drivers are restricted to purchasing no more than 5 to 10 litres at a time.
Chairman of the Upper Kurram Qabad Shah Khel said that a couple of days ago, the price of petrol was Rs1,000 per litre, but as of last night, the price has increased to Rs1,200 per litre.
He further noted that while petrol is available in small quantities, diesel is completely unavailable in the market.
