Here is how vitamin D may cause your death

24 February, 2025 15:40

Vitamin D is an essential part of our health. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium, which is essential for healthy bones.

In addition to calcium, vitamin D prevents osteoporosis, which is a disease that weakens bones and makes them more susceptible to fractures.

In addition to bone health, vitamin D helps your body support muscles, nerve movements, and the immune system while fighting infections. But, taking vitamin D incorrectly can lead to serious health risks such as vitamin D toxicity.

Although vitamin D toxicity can rarely cause elevated calcium levels (hypercalcemia), it causes nausea, vomiting, weakness, increased urination and even fatal kidney or heart complications in severe cases.

The vitamin should always be taken in moderation and it is important to avoid excessive intake. Vitamin D should be taken at the recommended level of doctors.

According to Dr. Rohit Jain from Lucknow, high amounts of vitamin D in the blood can cause nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, lack of appetite and kidney stones.

In severe cases, it can lead to kidney failure, abnormal heartbeat, or death.
