Pope still in critical condition with signs of ‘mild’ kidney failure: Vatican
Pope Francis’ condition worsened and he is being given oxygen.
Pope Francis, 88, who was diagnosed with double pneumonia, has been hospitalized since February 14.
The Vatican said in a recent statement that Pope Francis’s condition is critical and he is being given oxygen.
It further said the holy father does not face any new breathing problems, and he is alert and mentally sound.
The Vatican has also made it clear that speculation about Pope Francis not stepping down is baseless.
Cardinal Peroline, a senior Vatican official, said the only thing to worry about was the Pope’s health and his return to the Vatican. Calls for the Pope to resign are also baseless, he added.
