Saudi to open ‘Itikaf registration’ for two holy mosques this week

If you are willing to observe Itikaf at holy mosques, then mark your calendars as the registration process is set to commence this week.

According to The General Authority for Care of the Two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia, the registration for Itikaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah will open on Wednesday, March 5.

From coming Wednesday, the authorities will start registration for Itikaf and will continue until the slots are filled.

According to Saudi Gazette, the process for registration will begin at 11am (local time) via authority’s official website.

The permits will be issued online with specific conditions and criteria.

The religious ritual of Itikaf is observed in Ramadan during which Muslims seclude themselves in a mosque for uninterrupted worship and prayer in the final 10 days.

It will commence on Ramadan 20 (March 20) and continue until the end of the holy month.

You can do the registration by clicking on Itikaf in Al haramain app & direct visit by website.

Registration will be done only trough Saudi iqama holder who have Absher/Nafath account. They will apply for Itikaf on behalf of you on your name.

Registration cannot be done by any other person. only Saudi iqama holder can do the registration.
