Regular income certificates profit rates – March 2025 update
The Central Directorate of National Savings (Qaumi Bachat) has once again lowered the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates (RICs).
Launched by the Pakistani government in 1993, RICs are designed to provide a stable monthly income to investors, with a five-year maturity period.
These certificates are available in various denominations, including Rs. 50,000, Rs. 100,000, Rs. 500,000, Rs. 1,000,000, Rs. 5,000,000, and Rs. 10,000,000. Investors receive monthly profits, starting from the date of issuance.
Latest Profit Rate Revision
The National Savings department has adjusted the profit rate for the third time in under three months, citing a declining inflation rate as the reason for the changes.
As per the latest update, the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates is now 11.74%. Investors will now receive Rs. 979 per month on an investment of Rs. 100,000, down from the previous Rs. 990 per month.
Zakat Exemption
Investments in Regular Income Certificates remain exempt from Zakat deductions, providing an additional incentive for investors.
This latest revision reflects the economic shifts in Pakistan, with policymakers adjusting returns to align with market conditions.
