‘Govt won’t have objection if court releases PTI founder’
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that government would not have any objection if the court releases imprisoned Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.
The former premier is facing multiple cases including, £190m Al-Qadir Trust case, Toshakhana case-I, GHQ attack case, and Iddat case.
The statement from the PM’s advisor came at a time when the PCI is gearing up for a countrywide protest drive after Eid ul Fitr against “stolen mandate” and restore the supremacy of the rule of law and constitutions and release of political prisoners.
Moreover, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also gearing up to launch a protest against government polices, and could join forces with PTI.
The PM’s aid, while interacting with journalists, stated that the PTI founder was in jail due to the case he was convicted in.
