Punjab govt approves free transport for students

The cabinet sanctioned free travel for students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities across Punjab and discussed introducing transport cards for students.
Officials were directed to implement measures to reduce poultry prices and establish special investigation units for sexual assault cases.
To enhance regional connectivity, the cabinet approved the construction of airports in Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar, with an airstrip in Bhakkar designated for air ambulance services.
Plans for a Punjab airline were also discussed.
The meeting addressed legal and administrative matters, including stricter enforcement of traffic penalties and judicial reforms.
Amjad Pervaiz was appointed Advocate General, with a commitment to merit-based selections.
The government announced further social welfare initiatives, including ration cards for 1.5 million households.
Key approvals included crime control measures, agricultural support, and hiring in the health and education sectors.
Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to public service and economic stability, urging bold decisions in the public interest.
