Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today to sight Shawwal moon

A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Islamabad today to sight the shawwal moon in Pakistan.

The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be chaired by Chairman Maulana Abul Khabeer Azad while the meetings of the provincial Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held in their respective areas.

Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, said that the moon of Shawwal was formed at 3:58 pm Pakistani time yesterday, the moon will be about 27 hours old at sunset on today (Sunday) and there is a national possibility of sighting of the moon in Pakistan.

meanwhile, the Bohra community in Pakistan is celebrating Eidul Fitr today, while Awami National Party chief Aimal Wali Khan has also announced to celebrate Eid today.

On the other hand, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in various Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates today. Eid is expected to be celebrated on March 31 in different countries of Europe including Britain and Canada.
