ISLAMABAD: Across Pakistan, people are marking the joyous occasion of Eid ul Fitr with deep religious devotion and cultural enthusiasm. The celebrations began with special congregational prayers at mosques and open grounds, where worshippers gathered to seek blessings for peace, unity, and prosperity in the nation.

Eid is a time of togetherness, with families coming together to enjoy the festivities. Dressed in traditional outfits, people visit relatives, exchange gifts, and share sweets. Special delicacies such as sheer khurma and various meat dishes are prepared, enhancing the festive spirit. Children, excitedly collecting Eidi from elders, add to the joyful atmosphere.

As part of the celebrations, the country’s leadership encouraged people to extend their generosity to those in need through charity and donations.

PM Shehbaz Stresses National Solidarity

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his Eid message, described the festival as a celebration of gratitude, happiness, and brotherhood. He called upon the nation to uphold the values of patience and sacrifice beyond Ramadan.

Highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing challenges, he emphasized the need for unity against extremism, sectarianism, and external threats. “To safeguard the country’s stability and integrity, we must stand together and not allow any conspiracy to succeed,” he asserted.

The premier underscored the importance of collective efforts to strengthen the economy and maintain law and order. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the armed forces, who continue to fight terrorism and ensure national security.

PM Shehbaz also extended his condolences to the families of martyrs and victims of the Jaffar Express attack. Additionally, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and IIOJK, urging the international community to address human rights violations in these regions.

Concluding his message, he encouraged people to share Eid’s blessings with the less fortunate, fostering a more compassionate and inclusive society.

President Zardari Urges Unity and Charity on Eid

President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed heartfelt Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan and the global Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of sharing happiness with those less fortunate.

“We must fulfill our responsibilities of Zakat, charity, and Fitrana to ensure that no one is left out of Eid’s joy,” he stated, calling Eid a divine reward for the fasting and prayers observed throughout Ramadan.

He highlighted how Ramadan teaches patience, endurance, and compassion—virtues that should be integrated into daily life. Stressing the need for national unity, he urged citizens to support one another and contribute to Pakistan’s progress.

President Zardari also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), hoping they will soon celebrate Eid in a peaceful and free environment.

Armed Forces Pay Tribute to National Heroes

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Service Chiefs also extended warm Eid greetings to the nation.

“Eid ul Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is a symbol of unity, compassion, and gratitude,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in an official message.

“For our brave soldiers, the true essence of Eid lies in the honor of protecting our beloved country—even if it means celebrating away from family—while working towards peace, stability, and prosperity.”

This occasion, the statement noted, is an opportunity to reflect on the immense sacrifices made by the country’s courageous defenders who safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and freedom.

“The Armed Forces deeply appreciate the dedication and resilience of these heroes, as well as the unwavering support of their families,” the message added.

In the true spirit of Eid, Pakistan’s military leadership called upon all citizens to come together in love, respect, and solidarity—the fundamental values that define the strength of the nation.
