Senior PPP leader senator Taj Haider passes away

Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Senator Taj Haider has passed away on Tuesday.

According GTV news, he was undergoing treatment at a local private hospital, the funeral will be announced soon, the news has been confirmed by his family.

He was counted among the founding leaders of the PPP and was also the General Secretary of the PPP Parliamentarians, a member of the party’s Central Executive Committee.

In addition, he was also the General Secretary of the PPP Sindh. The popular politician was also involved in welfare activities along with politics, he also taught special children on Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The senior PPP leader was also awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2013 for remarkable services.

However, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori and other politicians have also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Taj Haider.

In a recent meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the provincial government unveiled a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and improving traffic management in Karachi. These changes come in response to the growing concerns over road accidents and the increasing need for better regulation of the city’s chaotic traffic system.

Earlier, the Sindh government has introduced several key measures aimed at reducing accidents and improving road safety. One of the most significant changes is the new speed limit of 30 km/h for heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) in Karachi. This decision addresses the rising number of accidents involving heavy vehicles and is designed to protect both vehicle drivers and pedestrians. The Chief Minister stressed that strict enforcement of this speed limit is essential to minimizing the risk of accidents in the city.

In addition to the speed limit, mandatory random drug testing will be implemented for all heavy transport vehicle drivers. This new regulation ensures that drivers are fit for duty and not impaired by drugs, which can significantly affect their driving ability. By testing drivers regularly, the Sindh government aims to reduce accidents caused by impaired driving.
