Roku users says YouTube TV app has suddenly disappeared from their devices

09 April, 2025 10:30

YouTube TV is one of the best ways to stream live TV channels on smart TV, especially in the United States.

YouTube TV provides features like an easy-to-use interface and unlimited cloud DVR storage and best thing is that the app is available on all major platforms, including Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku streaming devices.

If, however, you have had trouble during the past two days using the YouTube TV app on your Roku device finding that the application has completely disappeared then you are not alone.

Many users of Roku, as spotted by 9to5Google, have taken to Google Support, Redditt and Roku’s forums to report disappearance of the YouTube TV app from their device.

The affected users has said the app disappeared from their installed list, and even searching or resetting the device doesn’t help bring it back.

However, thankfully, a fix appears to be available and many Roku users have said that updating their device to the latest software version restores the YouTube TV app.

If that doesn’t work for you, another workaround involves using the regular YouTube app. According to some users, you can access YouTube TV from within the standard YouTube app on Roku.

They suggested that to just head to the left-hand menu, scroll to the bottom, and you should see an option for YouTube TV there.

Meanwhile, there is no official statement yet from Roku or Google on why this issue has been affecting so many users.
