Iran FM Says US Used UAE Territory to Launch Rocket Attacks on Iranian Islands

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that US forces used territory in the United Arab Emirates to launch rocket attacks against Iran’s Kharg and Abu Musa islands.

Speaking in an interview with a US broadcaster, Araghchi said both Iranian islands were targeted with HIMARS rockets during the previous night.

The Iranian foreign minister said Iranian forces traced the launch points of the rockets and identified locations in the UAE, including an area near Ras Al Khaimah and another site close to Dubai.

Araghchi said Tehran now considers it clear that the rockets were launched from UAE territory.

He described the use of a neighbouring country’s territory for military action against Iran as completely unacceptable.

The Iranian foreign minister warned that allowing military strikes to be launched from areas close to populated communities could create serious risks for civilians.

Araghchi’s remarks come amid escalating military tensions between Iran and the United States across the Gulf region.

The Strait of Hormuz and surrounding areas have become a major focus of the confrontation, with military operations and retaliatory strikes increasing concerns over regional security.

Iran has repeatedly warned countries in the region against allowing their territory or facilities to be used for attacks against the Islamic Republic.

The latest allegations could place additional pressure on regional governments as they seek to avoid becoming directly involved in the widening conflict.

The situation also raises concerns over the security of key maritime and energy routes in the Gulf, particularly as military tensions continue to threaten stability across the region.
