Pakistan Navy’s fourth offshore patrol vessel PNS Yamama has been inducted into the fleet.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf attended the ceremony as the chief guest at a prestigious ceremony held at Jinnah Naval Base Ormara.
PNS Yamama is a multi-role warship built at the Daman Shipyard in Romania, equipped with advanced stealth features, a state-of-the-art command and control system, and highly effective weapons and sensors.
These features enable it to operate effectively in a variety of threat environments. This ship is the fourth unit in the series, the induction of which will significantly enhance the Pakistan Navy’s maritime defense capabilities, protect maritime trade routes, and maintain order at sea.
The event at Jinnah Naval Base Ormara is a manifestation of the growing capabilities of the Pakistan Navy in the western maritime domain. It will contribute to the effective operations of the Pakistan Navy, promotion of maritime security, and regional peace and stability.
In addition, the protection of other important maritime infrastructure, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a project of national importance, will be ensured.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest, referring to the delicate geo-strategic situation of the Indian Ocean, emphasized the importance of a strong and modern naval force to deal with conventional and non-conventional threats.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of government officials, local dignitaries, and senior officers of the Pakistan Navy.
