Modi Govt suspends Indus Water Treaty, issues 48 hour deadline to Pakistanis

India has announced the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and the closure of the Attari checkpost.
After a cabinet meeting chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has also decided to suspend visas for Pakistanis under SAARC.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference and said that all Pakistani citizens have been ordered to leave India within 48 hours.
The spokesperson said that Indian citizens in Pakistan can return through the Attari checkpost until May 1.
India has declared all defense, military, naval, and air advisors in the Pakistani High Commission as undesirable, while it has also announced the recall of the Indian defense attaché from Pakistan.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also says that the staff of the Indian High Commission in Pakistan will be limited; the staff of the Indian High Commission will be reduced from 55 to 30 by May 1.
Moreover, Pakistanis will not be able to travel to India under the SAARC scheme will be considered canceled.
On the other hand, the defense analysts called the Pahalgam attack a false flag operation by India on Wednesday, GTV news reported.
Defense analyst Brigadier (retd.) Ahmed Saeed Minhas has criticized the behavior of the Indian media, saying that India’s fascist media is blaming Pakistan without evidence. The Pahalgam attack took place 400 kilometers inside occupied Kashmir.
Brigadier (retd) Minhas added that if there was any attempt to attack Pakistan, Abhinandan, who was sent home with tea in 2019, will now also be fed biscuits. The Army Chief had made it clear in the Overseas Convention that no kind of harm will be allowed to come to Pakistan.
Brigadier (retd) Rashid Wali said that the Pahalgam attack was a well-planned attack by India. Immediately after the attack, Pakistan was blamed on social media, and the Indian media is also spreading misinformation.
He extended that if there is an attack from India, it will have to be dealt with like Balakot.
International affairs expert Mushahid Hussain Syed condemned the Indian government’s practice of immediately blaming Pakistan and said that it is the standard procedure of the Indian government that if any terrorist incident occurs in India or occupied Kashmir, the blame is placed on Pakistan under an automated system.
