Heatwave subsides in Karachi

24 April, 2025 13:03

The intense spell of heatwave, which has been going on for the last several days in Karachi, has now subsided as sea winds have restored causing the temperature to drop.

The maximum temperature in the city is expected to reach 36 to 38 degrees Celsius on Thursday, but due to extreme humidity, the intensity of the heat will be 39 to 42 degrees.

Meteorologists said the city is currently experiencing winds of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour from the southwest, which can increase to 30 to 36 kilometers per hour in the evening and night. The restoration of these winds has brought partial relief to the citizens.

The Meteorological Department has confirmed that the current heatwave has ended in Karachi, but the high rate of temperature and humidity in the air can still be dangerous for the citizens.

The humidity level is currently between 50 and 80 per cent, which makes the body feel higher.
