Punjab govt to give 10,000 free e-bikes to students - check details
LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched a new plan to give 10,000 electric bikes to deserving students for free.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Punjab Zakat and Ushr Council, led by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, Iqbal Nasrullah. Other officials like Senator Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi, MPA Malik Iftikhar Ahmed, and more were also present.
Who Can Apply?
Only students who are eligible for Zakat and already registered with the Zakat and Ushr Council can apply. These are students who are financially struggling.
When Will Bikes Be Given?
In the first phase, 2,000 bikes will be handed out. However, no specific date has been announced yet. More updates will come as the government releases details.
This project is part of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz’s efforts to support students. Other programs already launched include free laptops, scholarships, and bikes on easy installments.
