Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Scheme: Eligibility, application process for free plots in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a new initiative to provide free three-marla plots to eligible individuals across the province.
The scheme, called Apni Zameen Apna Ghar, aims to support those who do not own land, offering them an opportunity to build their own homes.
Key Details of the Project
Plots Distribution: 2,000 plots will be given in 19 districts, including Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and Jhang.
Implementing Authority: The Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency (PHATA) will oversee the project.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be a permanent resident of Punjab (CNIC required).
Neither the applicant nor their spouse/children should own property in Pakistan.
The applicant must have a clean criminal record and no loan defaults.
Household income should be below Rs50,000.
Must be registered with the NSER with a PMT score of 60 or lower.
How to Apply
Online: Visit azag.punjab.gov.pk and fill out the application.
Offline: Visit the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office in your district, where help desks are available for free assistance.
Conditions for Allottees
Construction must begin within six months of receiving the plot and follow building rules.
The house must be completed within two years.
The plot cannot be sold, transferred, or rented for five years.
Balloting and Updates
The government has yet to announce the date for balloting. Updates will follow when confirmed.
This initiative is part of Punjab’s broader effort to improve housing conditions and provide opportunities for low-income families.
