NADRA Smart ID Card 2025 Guide: Fees, Features & Application Steps

NADRA has made several improvements to the Smart ID Card system 2025 in Pakistan to boost security and make the process easier for everyone. From new features to faster ways to apply, managing your ID card is now simpler than ever.

What’s New in 2025?

NADRA’s updated Smart ID Cards now include:

• Chip-based security for safer use and quicker access to government services.

• Digital cards through the Pak Identity mobile app, so you can carry your CNIC on your phone.

• QR codes on all cards, including older ones, for instant digital access.

These changes are part of NADRA’s efforts to go fully digital and citizen-friendly.

How to Apply for a NADRA Smart ID Card

You can now apply online or through the mobile app. Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:

1. Visit id.nadra.gov.pk or download the Pak Identity app.

2. Create an account or log in.

3. Choose your application type (new, renew, update, or reprint).

4. Enter personal info like name, address, and date of birth.

5. Upload documents, such as a birth certificate, previous CNIC, and proof of residence.

6. Take and upload a photo with a white background.

7. Submit fingerprints using the fingerprint form provided.

8. Pay the fee online with your card.

9. Submit your form and get a confirmation email with a tracking ID.

10. Track your application through SMS by sending your tracking ID to 8400.

NADRA Smart ID Card Fees in 2025

• Normal: Rs. 750 (Free for first-time applicants over 18)

• Urgent: Rs. 1,500 (Ready in ~15 working days)

• Executive: Rs. 2,500 (Ready in ~9 working days)

Overseas applicants may have additional fees for verification.

How to Check Your CNIC Status

To track your NADRA ID card:

• Use the Pak Identity app or visit the NADRA website.

• Enter your application ID for updates.

• Or simply send your tracking ID to 8400 via SMS.
