Sindh Launches Talent Hunt Program to Promote Culture and Tourism
Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Culture, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, has announced the start of the “Sindh Talent Hunt Program.” The goal is to discover local talent, protect cultural heritage, and boost tourism in the province.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting led by the minister. Several key steps were approved to support culture and tourism.
Under the new program, young people with cultural skills will be identified and trained across Sindh. The government also plans to reduce resort prices at tourist spots and provide free internet to improve visitors’ experiences.
In Tharparkar, a jeep desert safari and camping program will be introduced to attract more tourists.
To preserve historical records, the Sindh Archives will be digitally linked with the British Library.
Ongoing cultural digitization projects were also discussed. These include turning Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s poetry into a mobile app and translating the history of Mohenjo-Daro into over 15 languages.
A report on the demolition of historical buildings will be sent to the Sindh Chief Minister. More steps are expected to protect cultural heritage.
