PM visits ISI HQ, briefed on security threats

The Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif has visited Inter service Intelligence (ISI) Head Quarters (HQ) on Tuesday, GTV news reported.

On the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawja Asif, and all services chiefs were along with Prime Minister.

As well as, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim was also present in the meeting at ISI HQ.

The source said that the PM has been briefed about the security situation between as tensions got hype between Pakistan and India after Pahalagam Incident.

The PM was informed about preparations to deal with traditional threats in the context of Indian aggressive actions.

On this occasion, Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the professional expertise and strategic insight of the ISI and its important role in safeguarding national interests and making decisions regarding national security in complex and changing circumstances.

The Prime Minister said that the entire nation stands behind our brave armed forces, and the Pakistan Army is considered one of the most professional and disciplined forces in the world.

The leadership reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defending the homeland against traditional and all other threats, emphasizing that with the full support of the nation, the Pakistan Armed Forces — in coordination with all elements of national power and state institutions — are fully prepared to safeguard the country’s security, honor, and dignity under all circumstances.

The participant said that with the support of the nation, state institutions are fully prepared to protect the country’s security and dignity.

On the other hand, General Asim Munir has taken personal responsibility for the treatment of two Pakistani children who were recently sent back from India following the tragic Pahalgam attack.

The two children, Abdullah (9) and Mansa (7), are from Hyderabad and were undergoing treatment in India for congenital heart disease. After their deportation, their father, Shahid Ahmed, criticized the Indian government’s decision, calling it an inhumane act by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to the media, Shahid Ahmed shared that both of his children were born with serious heart defects. He had taken them to India for specialized medical treatment, but they were forcibly sent back. He expressed deep gratitude to General Asim Munir, saying, “I am thankful to the Army Chief for arranging immediate treatment for my children at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). The care and attention they are receiving at AFIC is far beyond my expectations.”

Dr. Mehboob Sultan, a senior cardiologist at AFIC, provided medical details. “Both children have holes in their hearts and underdeveloped pulmonary arteries. They are suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex congenital condition. Their surgeries will be done in phases, and the first phase is scheduled to be completed soon.”

Dr. Sultan emphasized that AFIC has treated many similar cases and added, “In my opinion, there’s no need to send such children abroad. We have successfully handled many complex pediatric heart surgeries here.”
