NSC grants Pakistan armed forces right to respond to Indian aggression

NSC says Pakistan gives befitting response to Indian unprovoked attack on civilians
The National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan has strongly condemned what it called India’s “unprovoked and unjustified attacks” on Pakistani territory, accusing the Indian military of deliberately targeting civilian areas during late-night airstrikes.
In an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, the country’s top civil and military leadership declared the strikes a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The NSC described the attacks as clear acts of war under international law.
“The deliberate targeting of civilians, including innocent women and children, by the Indian military constitutes a heinous and shameful crime that is in violation of all norms of human behaviour and the provisions of international law,” the statement said.
The NSC meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by key cabinet members, military chiefs, and national security advisers.
Officials confirmed that multiple sites in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Punjab were hit, leading to significant civilian casualties, including the deaths of children. The attacks have sparked outrage across the country, with strong calls for accountability and international attention.
The NSC concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s right to defend its territory and citizens, warning that any further aggression would be met with a strong and immediate response.
