The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted a new weather system starting from May 7, which will bring rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, and hail to many parts of the country.

From May 7 to 12, heavy rain and hail are expected in different areas of Kashmir, such as Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur. In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain is likely between May 8 and 12 in places like Diamer, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, and Hunza.

In Punjab and Islamabad, strong winds, thunderstorms, and hail may occur from May 7 to 11. Cities likely to be affected include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to be hit by bad weather from May 7 to 12. Areas like Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are on alert.

In Balochistan, rain is expected in Quetta, Zhob, Sibi, Khuzdar, Musakhel, and Awaran between May 7 and 10.

In Sindh, places like Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Sanghar may experience rain and gusty winds from May 8 to 10.

Authorities have warned that strong winds, hail, and lightning could damage weak buildings, power lines, trees, and vehicles. Farmers—especially those harvesting wheat—are advised to take extra care during this period of unstable weather.
