Lahore Authorities Dismiss Viral Wahga Border Security Alert as Fake
The office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore has officially declared a widely shared security alert, warning of a violent incident near Wahga Border, as entirely false.
In a statement released on Tuesday, officials confirmed that no such incident occurred in or around the Wahga border area, assuring the public that the security alert is fake and there is no reason for alarm. “This advisory is fake. Citizens are urged not to believe in rumors,” the DC office stated, emphasizing that ensuring public safety remains their highest priority. Authorities also noted that any real emergency would be communicated through verified and official channels.
The fabricated message, falsely attributed to DC Lahore Syed Musa, claimed that a major security event had led to multiple casualties and that military forces had taken control of surrounding routes, including Burki, Bedian, and the BRB Canal.
The advisory further directed residents of DHA Phase 8, Askari 11, Paragon City, and Green City to evacuate immediately, bringing their ID cards, essential medicines, and emergency supplies.
Officials have strongly urged the public to rely only on credible information sources and to refrain from spreading unverified claims that could incite unnecessary panic. The administration reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security and warned against the circulation of such misleading content.
