India confirms damage from Pakistan’s military operation 'Bunyan Marsoos'
India has admitted that several of its key airbases have been hit during Pakistan’s ongoing military action called “Operation Bunyan Marsoos,” which was launched in response to what Pakistan calls blatant Indian aggression.
During a press conference, Indian Army spokesperson Colonel Sofia Quraishi, along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, shared updates on the situation.
Colonel Sofia Quraishi confirmed that Indian airbases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bathinda were damaged, both in terms of equipment and military personnel.
She said Pakistan used high-speed missiles to strike airbase locations in Punjab, and also used drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions, and fighter jets to attack military sites across India.
Quraishi added, “India neutralised many dangers, but Pakistan tried to infiltrate via air at more than 26 places,” causing significant damage to Indian assets.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that Pakistan’s attacks were widespread — from Srinagar to Chhalliya — and included strikes on Udhampur, Adampur, Pathankot, and Bathinda. She also claimed Pakistan is moving troops closer to the borders, but denied reports that Pakistan had destroyed India’s S-400 air defense system or hit Surat and Sirsa airfields.
Colonel Quraishi stressed that India does not want the conflict to grow. She said, “India does not wish to prolong this conflict. If Pakistan agrees to de-escalate, we are prepared to stand down.”
Meanwhile, Radio Pakistan, citing security sources, reported that Pakistan destroyed the BrahMos storage site in Beas, along with an airbase in Udhampur, an airfield in Pathankot, and military bases that were allegedly used to attack Pakistani civilians and mosques.
According to the report, Pakistan’s forces also destroyed Brigade Headquarters “K G Top” and a supply depot in Uri.
