Govt Announces Reopening of Schools from Tomorrow
Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has announced that all schools, colleges, and universities in the province will reopen starting Monday.
In his statement, the minister confirmed that academic sessions would resume as usual across all educational institutions.
This decision follows the education department’s announcement on May 7, which declared holidays in both public and private institutions in response to Indian drone attacks targeting Pakistan, particularly in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In light of the escalating tensions, the Lahore, Multan, and other educational boards had postponed intermediate exams scheduled for May 9.
BISE Lahore’s Controller of Examinations, Zahid Mian, stated that exams for Quran translation and ethics were postponed, along with practical exams for matriculation students in computer science and biology. Similarly, the Multan Board rescheduled its HSSC theory exams and SSC practicals set for May 9, with new dates to be announced later.
