Punjab revised school timing amid heatwave

Due to the ongoing heatwave in Pakistan, Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced new school timings for the province. Starting tomorrow, schools will open at 7:30 am and close at 11:30 am to protect students from the extreme heat.

The minister shared this update on social media (formerly Twitter), also confirming that May 28 will be a public holiday.

This holiday aligns with the Sindh government’s decision to observe Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28. The day marks Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests in 1998 and is celebrated as a national occasion.
