Stabbing at Dutch Care Home Leaves Several Injured, Including Police Officer

Several people have been injured in a stabbing at a care home for people with intellectual disabilities in northern Holland. One of the victims is a police officer.
The incident happened early in the morning around 6:00 AM local time at a group home on Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan in Hoofddorp. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene.
Police Officer Among the Injured
In a statement, the Politie Eenheid Noord-Holland confirmed: “There are multiple victims, including a colleague. Multiple ambulances and Mobile Medical Teams (MMT) are on site.”
Local reports say that one person is in very serious condition in hospital. The injured police officer was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Heavy Police and Ambulance Presence
Images from the scene show several ambulances and police vehicles parked outside the building. A large cordon has been set up, and the entire street is blocked off for investigation.
Witnesses described the scene as tense. One report said a police car was covered in blood, showing how serious the attack was.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities are now investigating the stabbing. The motive and the suspect’s identity have not yet been released. It is unclear whether the attacker is known to the victims or if this was a random act.
The group home, which serves residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is now under police protection as the investigation continues.
