British boxer Georgia O’Connor, aged 25, sadly passed away after a tough battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Just 10 days before her death, she shared a heartbreaking message on Instagram. She announced that she had married her partner, Adriano Cardinali.

In her final post, Georgia showed off her wedding ring and wrote: “The day I married the love of my life.” This emotional moment deeply touched her fans and the boxing community.

Georgia was a talented athlete from Durham. She won a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games. She also earned medals in the Youth World and European Championships. She turned professional in 2021 and remained undefeated in her three fights.

Georgia had faced health issues before. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC), a painful bowel condition. In January, she told the public she had been diagnosed with cancer.

Despite her illness, Georgia stayed strong. In February, she paid tribute to her husband Adriano. She wrote a moving message, calling him her superhero. She explained how he quit his job to take care of her and fight beside her.

“He did everything to save me,” she wrote. “He never gave up. He’s my protector, my soulmate, my safe place.”

The boxing world is mourning her loss. Her promoter, Boxxer, said in a statement:
“We are heartbroken by Georgia’s passing. She was a true warrior, loved and respected by all of us.”

England Boxing also shared their grief. “Georgia was a gifted boxer and a beloved member of our community. Our thoughts are with her family,” they said.

Queensberry Promotions added, “We are deeply saddened. Rest in peace, Georgia.”

Beyond boxing, Georgia was a multi-talented athlete. She was a three-time national taekwondo champion and an undefeated kickboxer. She also played the guitar and loved to sing.

Georgia O’Connor inspired many with her strength and courage. Her story will be remembered by fans, athletes, and people around the world.
