Suzuki Alto, Cultus, and Picanto: Check registration fee before Budget 2025-26

Suzuki Alto, Cultus, and Picanto: Check registration fee before Budget 2025-26
If you’ve bought a new car or vehicle in Punjab, it’s important to get it registered quickly with the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department. This helps you avoid fines or legal trouble.
The Punjab Excise Department handles vehicle registration across the province. This process makes sure every vehicle is properly documented, which helps with road safety, crime prevention, and tax collection.
To register a vehicle, owners must provide some important documents like:
CNIC (ID card)
Proof of ownership
Sales invoice
Once everything is verified, the department gives you a registration number and certificate.
Vehicle Registration Fee (Up to 1000cc Cars)
In the 2024–25 budget, the Punjab government set the registration fee at 1% of the car’s value for vehicles up to 1000cc. This includes popular models like Suzuki Cultus, Alto, and Kia Picanto.
It’s still unclear if this fee will change in the upcoming budget.
New E-Registration Card Service
To make things easier for drivers, the Punjab Excise Department has also launched a free e-registration card service. Now, you don’t need to visit an office—just download your registration card online.
