LPG price drops in Karachi despite high demand

25 May, 2025 15:07

In Karachi, the price of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by Rs. 10 per kilogram, bringing the new price down to Rs. 250 per kg, according to media reports. This comes at a time when demand for LPG is rising due to serious gas load-shedding in many parts of the city.

Many residents, who are struggling with low or no Sui gas, are now depending on LPG for cooking and daily use. They are asking the authorities to lower the LPG price even further to make it more affordable.

They are also calling on the government to fix the ongoing gas crisis and ensure a regular gas supply in Karachi, so they don’t have to rely on expensive LPG cylinders.

Right now, almost every area of Karachi is affected by Sui gas load-shedding, which is why the demand for LPG has gone up. At the same time, people are also facing long electricity outages, making life even harder during the extremely hot weather.
