PMD Forecasts Strong Winds, Storms, Rain Starting Tomorrow

Lahore: The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting storms, strong winds, and rain beginning tomorrow.

A fresh wave of winds is expected to enter the northern regions of the country starting May 28. Thunderstorms with rain are likely from tomorrow evening through May 31.

The department has indicated that rainfall is anticipated in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad, with some areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan also expected to receive showers.

Meanwhile, the melting of glaciers in the northern areas is causing a continuous rise in water levels at the Tarbela Dam. Currently, the dam’s water level has risen to 71 feet above its dead level.

In neighboring India, heavy stormy rains have resulted in widespread damage, with Delhi Airport also experiencing disruptions due to the severe weather.
