Pakistani delegation briefs OIC at UN about India’s aggression
A high-level delegation from Pakistan, led by Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, gave an important briefing to the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the United Nations.
The briefing focused on serious developments in South Asia after India’s military actions and its false accusations against Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack.
Bilawal Bhutto clearly rejected India’s claim linking Pakistan to the attack, calling it baseless and without any evidence. He said India’s quick blame was used as an excuse to carry out cross-border strikes that harmed civilians and damaged civilian property.
He also showed deep concern over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a dangerous move to use water as a weapon. He urged that this should not become a normal practice.
Bilawal warned that India’s aggressive actions are making the region less safe and are a serious threat to peace in South Asia.
He said Pakistan remains committed to peace, restraint, and dialogue. He called for restoring the Indus Waters Treaty, respecting the ceasefire, and starting full talks with India, especially focusing on the Kashmir issue.
He thanked the OIC for supporting the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said their backing gives hope in these tough times. The OIC member states praised Pakistan’s clear and timely update and showed full support for Pakistan and the Kashmiri people.
They also stressed the need to follow international laws and treaties, including the Indus Waters Treaty. The OIC welcomed Pakistan’s peaceful approach and its call for resolving all disputes through dialogue, especially the Jammu and Kashmir issue as per UN resolutions.
