India learnt a hard lesson on May 6-7, says PM

03 June, 2025 17:23

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while addressing a jirga on law and order in Peshawar, said that India will never forget the life lesson taught by the Pakistani army under the leadership of Field Marshal in response to the ambush and martyrdom of innocent Pakistanis on May 6 and 7.

A jirga on law and order has been convened in Peshawar, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, and other political and military leaders and tribal elders.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his address that I greet the participants of the jirga. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a very great province, it is a very beautiful province, and the people here are a brave, proud and honorable nation.

He said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa supported Pakistan in 1947, the people of the province always raised the flag of Pakistan, and you always defended Pakistan with strength and courage.

He said that the people here made many sacrifices that history will never forget, and whenever it came to Pakistan, you put aside all the issues and differences and raised the flag of Pakistan. I have come to express my deepest appreciation to you.

Shahbaz Sharif said that whenever, the historian, write the history of Pakistan, the great sacrifices and struggles of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in this 77-year history will always be remembered in golden letters.

He said that when the APS incident took place in 2016, how were children and teachers martyred, including the children of soldiers? A thoughtful decision was made in a meeting in Peshawar. What happened after that is in front of all of us.

He said that we have to seriously consider what the tribal elders have said today and sit together and make decisions. Ali Amin Gandapur said that the NFC award has been in existence for 15 years and now it has to be reviewed again.

He said that a committee will be formed regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the NFC, while the first meeting related to the NFC will be convened in August.

The Prime Minister said that the first item in the 2010 award was the resources available to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against terrorism, on which all four provinces agreed to one percent, and in different periods, 700 billion rupees were given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone for this purpose, while the provision of funds to KP will continue until the end of terrorism.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was and still is a frontline province in the war against terrorism, while incidents of terrorism were also taking place in Balochistan, but Balochistan was not included in the NFC funds to combat terrorism.

He said that Ali Amin Gandapur has also made other demands, such as forming a committee for the NFC award, and similarly, he will sit down and form a committee for your matters that will look into it seriously.

Shahbaz Sharif said that just as the people of other provinces of Pakistan joined the prayers of the Pakistani army in the war with India, similarly, our brothers and sisters in Peshawar and other southern districts prayed for the success of the Pakistani army.

He said that just as Pakistan was given honor in this war, Pakistan will also emerge as a great nation in the economic field. Today, the nation is one, so we have to take big and tough decisions for Pakistan’s success.

He further said that the Modi government is licking the wounds of its defeat, it is in a state of anger and excitement. Sometimes he says will shoot, sometimes he says they will stop the water. Let me make it clear that every drop of water is the right of Pakistanis, while if India makes any move again, a lesson will be taught in the same way.

Shehbaz Sharif said that we have to take a decision on the issue of water and will invite all four provinces in this regard, sit down and discuss how to increase water reserves so that India’s dirty and nefarious intentions are buried.
