Baraldo youth unite for change in historic Askole meeting

Baraldo youth historic Askole meeting
An important and historic meeting titled “Strategic Dialogue and Awareness Session” was held in Askole, organized by the Baraldo Youth Organization (BYO), in which a large number of youth, elders, and BYO members from across Baraldo participated.Â
The organizers, realizing the need for an organization at the grassroots level, established BYO.
The meeting outlined various educational, social, and welfare activities for the future, including initiatives such as raising voices to solve problems.
Moreover, involving educated youth in regional decision-making is the most important need of the hour.
The youth opined that only educated youth can identify social problems and find solutions to them, and an organized society is formed.
Speakers at the meeting said that career counseling and guidance are essential for advancement in the academic field.
The meeting expressed serious concerns, particularly over the dilapidated condition of Baraldo Road and especially the change in the map of Motharan Road.
However, the speakers criticized the Works Department and demanded that the opinions of the local people be given importance and that development projects be completed quickly.
In addition, the strike by the teachers on the current one-point agenda has affected educational activities in schools, so they demanded that the higher authorities resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Participants expressed that BYO is a platform that provides voice, purpose, and direction to the youth. They expressed their commitment to continue taking practical steps with BYO for regional development, education, health, tourism, environment, and social betterment.
The organization of this successful event involved the tireless work, dedication, and unity of all BYO members from Karachi to Testay. Their efforts made this historic occasion memorable.
Earlier, mass protest has been recorded in Askole, a key tourist hub in Shigar Valley famous for its stunning landscapes and proximity to K2, demanding reliable power supply and network connectivity in the region on Tuesday.
The BYO, Muhammad Abbas Askole, said that for the last twenty-five days, they have been deprived of power supply, which affects daily life, education, health, and business in the region.
He said that the alternative way to provide supply is the Hoo (the middle small town in the Braldo region) powerhouse, but due to the negligence of Tastay Power Supply staffers, it was not given despite ensuring speedy provision of electricity.
Additionally, citing the deprivation of electricity, there are no signals causing 4G network in the area.
Furthermore, Askole, as it is supposed to be the tourist capital, Abbas stressed that the department of local government must take notice of the concerning issue and ensure the provision of power supply and communications facilities up to the mark in the region.
