The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially released the updated syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, now available on its website.
New Syllabus Framework
The revised syllabus will serve as the standardized format for the upcoming exam, focusing on five core subjects:
- Biology (81 MCQs)
- Chemistry (45 MCQs)
- Physics (36 MCQs)
- English (9 MCQs)
- Logical Reasoning (9 MCQs)
Exam Structure & Grading
- Total Questions: 180 MCQs (to be completed in 3 hours)
- Difficulty Level:
- 15% Easy
- 70% Moderate
- 15% Difficult
- No Negative Marking
Passing Criteria
- Medical Colleges: Minimum 55% marks required
- Dental Colleges: Minimum 50% marks required
Exam Date & Next Steps
The MDCAT 2025 is tentatively scheduled for either:
- Last Sunday of September 2025
- First Sunday of October 2025
The final date will be confirmed after consultations with admitting universities.
