The Iranian military command reported that Israel carried out an attack on Iran at 9 a.m. local time, violating the ceasefire agreement.
In response to Israel’s alleged breach of the ceasefire, Iran’s top security authority stated that the Iranian armed forces do not rely on the enemy’s statements and remain fully prepared to retaliate against any act of aggression.
Meanwhiler Reuters reported that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has accused Iran of breaching the US-mediated ceasefire by launching missile attacks on Israeli territory. In response, he has directed the Israeli military to initiate a strong retaliatory campaign.
Katz stated that, in accordance with their policy of responding decisively to any ceasefire violation, he has instructed the Israeli Defense Forces to continue targeting government-linked assets in Tehran and the infrastructure supporting terrorism.
The Israeli military reported the launch of two missiles from Iran, which triggered warning sirens in northern Israel. An anonymous Israeli official told AFP that both missiles were intercepted successfully.
Approximately 15 minutes after the first sirens were heard, authorities allowed civilians to exit shelters, according to military sources.
Earlier, Israel had previously announced a ceasefire, stating that its objectives from the June 13 bombing campaign against Iran had been achieved. Iran agreed to halt retaliatory strikes if Israeli attacks stopped. However, Iran’s state news agency ISNA denied any missile launches after the ceasefire began, calling such claims false.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed acceptance of the ceasefire in coordination with US President Trump and expressed gratitude to the U.S. for its support against the Iranian nuclear threat.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said Iran would stop retaliating from 4 a.m. Tehran time if Israel ceased its strikes.
Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military warned that threats remain. Spokesperson Brigadier General Effi Defrin said the army remains on high alert and urged the public to strictly follow safety guidelines.
