Impeachment Attempt Against Donald Trump Rejected in US House of Representatives

25 June, 2025 11:06

The US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly rejected an impeachment attempt against US President Donald Trump.

According to the report, the impeachment resolution was introduced over Trump’s failure to seek Congressional approval before launching attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The resolution was presented by Democrat Congressman Al Green from Texas. It saw limited debate and even divided the Democratic Party itself, with several Democrats siding with Republicans in rejecting the move.

Speaking before the vote, Al Green said that the United States stands at a crossroads between democracy and dictatorship.

He stated, “I am taking this step because no single individual should have the authority to drag over 300 million people into war without consulting the US Congress.”

He added, “I am doing this because I believe the Constitution is either meaningful or it is meaningless.”

In the House, 344 members voted in favor of postponing the impeachment resolution, while 79 voted against, meaning that a majority—including many Democrats—opposed moving forward with the action against Trump.

It is worth noting that on June 22, under Trump’s orders, the US military launched “Operation Midnight Hammer,” targeting three of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
