Iran Vows to Continue Peaceful Nuclear Program Despite Attacks

25 June, 2025 19:53

Tehran – Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear program despite recent attacks on its nuclear facilities by the United States and Israel, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated that Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy remains protected under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and cannot be taken away. He emphasized that recent military actions have violated international law.

“These attacks are illegal and must be condemned by the international community,” Baqaei said, urging global powers to speak out against U.S. and Israeli aggression.

He added that the violation of international law is even more serious than the physical damage to the nuclear facilities, and stressed that ensuring the safety of Iranian scientists and nuclear sites is now a top priority.

In response to the attacks, Iran’s parliament has approved the suspension of further cooperation on the 2015 nuclear deal, and the country is currently reviewing all forms of collaboration.

“Reviewing our cooperation is a natural process after such aggression,” the spokesman said. He also declared that the United States has destroyed trust and diplomacy, accusing it of giving Israel the green light to strike Iran.

Baqaei criticized those who claim to support diplomacy but, in practice, “fuel war and instability.” He confirmed that Iran has held talks with several international parties, but its top priority remains national security.

“Diplomacy never ends, but America’s true intentions remain questionable,” he added.
