Saudi Arabia Grants One-Month Visa Extension for Expatriates with Recently Expired Visit Visas
The Saudi Arabian Passport and Immigration Department announced a temporary relief for expatriates whose visit visas have recently expired. Starting from 1st Muharram (June 27), eligible foreign visitors will receive a one-month extension on their visas.
This measure covers all types of visit visas, including family visits, business trips, and personal visits. It aims to ease travel difficulties and reduce legal problems caused by visa expiries.
Expatriates can apply for the extension through the Tawasul service on the Absher electronic platform. After submitting the application and paying any required fees or penalties, applicants will be granted the extra month. This gives them more time to make travel plans and leave Saudi Arabia without worry.
The Saudi Department of Permits emphasized that no new fines or legal actions will be taken against those who follow this process during the extension period. This helps prevent detention, deportation bans, or other penalties related to overstaying visas.
Authorities encourage all eligible visitors to apply for this extension before the deadline. The move reflects Saudi Arabia’s efforts to improve immigration procedures, balancing legal requirements with compassion and security.
