Saudi Airline Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Karachi Airport

27 June, 2025 15:29

A Saudi Airlines flight heading from Karachi to Jeddah was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff on Friday due to a suspected technical fault. The aircraft, carrying more than 200 passengers, returned to Karachi when the pilot received a warning related to a possible engine fire.

As per aviation sources, the warning appeared just minutes after the plane was airborne. The captain immediately alerted Karachi Air Traffic Control (ATC) and requested an emergency return. ATC promptly cleared runway 25L, allowing the flight to land safely without any injuries or damage.

Passengers remained calm during the sudden diversion, though some expressed concern over the unexpected situation. Emergency teams were placed on high alert during the landing as a precautionary step.

Following the safe landing, engineers began a detailed inspection of the aircraft to identify the cause of the warning. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was also informed and has started a standard investigation into the matter.

All passengers were safely guided off the plane, and airport officials are arranging alternative travel options or a replacement aircraft, depending on the inspection results.

Although the technical issue is still under review, aviation authorities stress that emergency landings are normal safety measures to ensure the well-being of everyone on board.
