North Waziristan, KP – At least 13 Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred when an explosive-laden vehicle driven by Indian-sponsored terrorists rammed into a security forces vehicle, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Saturday.
The suicide attack took place in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to ISPR, a vehicle-borne suicide bomber attempted to target a security convoy but was intercepted by the leading group. In a desperate move, the terrorists rammed the explosive-laden vehicle into a military vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of 13 brave soldiers.
Three civilians, including two children and a woman, were also injured in the tragic incident.
Following the attack, Pakistan Army launched a sanitisation operation in the area. During an intense exchange of fire, 14 terrorists were killed by security forces.

ISPR reaffirmed that operations would continue until all terrorists responsible for the attack are brought to justice. It also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism from its soil.
Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terror incidents following the return of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Bordering provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan remain the most affected.
In May 2025, the country recorded 85 militant attacks, a 5% increase from 81 in April, according to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS). Despite tensions with India, extremist violence has not significantly escalated.
