Elon Musk to Back Rep. Massie, Stands Against Trump’s Political Bullying

Business tycoon Elon Musk has announced his support for Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., as the congressman faces a Republican primary challenge. Musk’s endorsement comes after Massie opposed the massive spending measure known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and criticized US President Donald Trump’s recent military actions against Iran as unconstitutional.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote,

“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”

Former Congressman Justin Amash urged Musk to back Massie, calling him a “genuine fiscal conservative.” Musk replied, “I will,” and later confirmed he would donate to Massie’s campaign.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Massie praised Musk for promoting free speech through his ownership of X, saying it allows him to bypass traditional media and expose the truth behind major bills in Congress. He added that his re-election campaign is about maintaining independence in Congress rather than becoming a “rubber stamp” for party politics.

“I’m extremely thankful to have Elon Musk’s financial assistance to continue my mission as an independent voice in Congress for my constituents,” Massie said.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has launched multiple attacks on Massie via Truth Social, calling him a “pathetic LOSER” and promising to campaign in Kentucky for a primary challenger.

The GOP primary in Kentucky is shaping up to be a high-profile battle, with grassroots support clashing against party loyalty and national endorsements.
