Karachi bus services partially closed for 3 days

Government bus services in Karachi will be partially closed for three days starting today due to Muharram processions. The BRT Green Line service will remain fully suspended on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Peoples Bus Service will have seven out of ten routes closed on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, while five routes will be partially affected on the 8th.

Karachi Traffic Police has also shared a traffic diversion plan for these days. MA Jinnah Road will stay closed from Guru Mandir to Tower because of security concerns. Alternative routes have been suggested for commuters.

People coming from Nazimabad can use Lasbela Chowk through the Garden area to reach Nishtar Park. Those traveling from Liaquatabad should turn right at Teen Hatti and proceed via Martin Road.

Commuters from Hassan Square to PP Chowrangi can take Kashmir Road under the Jail Flyover and head towards Society Light Signal on Shahrah-e-Quaideen or use the Jail Flyover to reach Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road via Lasbela Chowk.

Authorities have blocked key sections of the city’s main Muharram procession route and increased security in sensitive areas.

Shops and commercial centers along MA Jinnah Road, Saddar, Empress Market, and Preedy Street have been partially sealed overnight as a safety measure. Shipping containers have been placed at entry points in Saddar to control access and manage traffic flow.
