Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has finalized negotiations with Iran and plans to lift sanctions on the country at an appropriate time. He also indicated progress on the contentious plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza.
During a dinner meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, President Trump emphasized his ongoing efforts to prevent conflicts worldwide, highlighting the recent de-escalation between Pakistan and India. He noted that both nations halted their conflict in the name of trade and acknowledged that both possess nuclear weapons.
Addressing Iran, Trump stated that the country is ready for talks, and the US has scheduled negotiations aimed at promoting peace. He expressed hope that the conflict between Israel and Iran has ended and that no further military action against Iran will be necessary.
Responding to questions about relocating Palestinian citizens, Trump mentioned strong cooperation from Israel’s neighboring countries in this regard.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel is collaborating with the US to identify countries capable of providing Palestinians with a better future. During the meeting, Netanyahu nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and confirmed that he had sent a formal letter to the Nobel Committee recommending Trump for the award.
It is important to note that the Government of Pakistan recently decided to recommend President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026, recognizing his decisive diplomatic role in the Pakistan-India crisis. Following this, Pakistan sent a recommendation letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Additionally, a Republican member of the US Congress nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 in acknowledgment of his contribution to the Israel-Iran ceasefire.
