DC Swat Says Amir Muqam’s Hotel Not Part of Encroachment

Amir Muqam Encroachment Part Hotel
Deputy Commissioner Swat Saleem Jan has said that Amir Muqam’s hotel does not fall under encroachment.
Holding a press conference in Swat, the Deputy Commissioner said that the operation against encroachments on the Mingora bypass was legal. According to revenue records, these lands were owned by the Samalati. Encroachments within the river boundaries were removed. No operation was carried out against owned lands and buildings with NOC.
The Deputy Commissioner said that tourists are welcome and will be provided with all facilities. They are going to conduct an indiscriminate operation from Mingora to Kalam. People took NOC and later built encroachments. 87 hotels have been identified in Kalam.
He said that despite the agreement in 2020, 33 hotels have established encroachments. The Special Inquiry Committee will issue a report on the Swat tragedy. There was a shortage of boats and ropes during the tragedy.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a letter has been written to the government for other facilities including drone technology.
An operation against encroachments is underway in Swat by the provincial government and district administration, and illegal encroachments are being demolished.
The administration says that a hotel built on the land of influential people has also been demolished.
Citizens say that this illegal coercive operation is being carried out to divert attention from the tragedy that occurred in Swat. This is a privately owned office property, and the Swat River is 1,000 feet away.
