Pakistan, Russia Sign Agreement to Restore Steel Mills

Pakistan and Russia have signed a protocol to restore and upgrade Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), reinforcing their decades-long industrial relationship. The agreement marks a significant step forward in economic cooperation between the two nations.

Signing Ceremony in Moscow

The signing ceremony took place at the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow. Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, Saif Anjum, and Vadim Velichko, General Director of Industrial Engineering LLC, represented their respective countries. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, were also present.

Project Goals and Future Plans

The collaboration aims to restart and expand steel production at PSM, which has remained dormant for years. The move is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base and enhance bilateral trade.

“Reviving PSM with Russia’s support reflects our shared history and commitment to a stronger industrial future,” said Haroon.
