Haseebullah Khan Dismisses England Switch Rumors, Reaffirms Commitment to Pakistan

Pakistan’s emerging wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan has firmly denied rumors suggesting that he plans to represent the England cricket team instead of Pakistan.

Addressing the circulating speculation, Haseebullah clarified that he remains fully committed to representing Pakistan at the international level. Recent chatter on social media had claimed that the 22-year-old cricketer was considering a move to England to pursue his cricketing career there.

However, taking to Instagram, Haseebullah dismissed the rumors as false. In his Instagram story, he stated, “I want to inform you all that I have come to England due to my domestic county contract and sponsorship commitments.”

He emphasized that his presence in England is strictly for fulfilling his county cricket obligations and reiterated that he has no intention of playing for any other national team. “I am fully committed with dedication and passion to representing my country, Pakistan,” he added.

Haseebullah also urged fans and media to refrain from spreading unfounded claims. “I request everyone to avoid spreading baseless rumors. Thank you for your support. Pakistan Zindabad,” he said.

The clarification follows a viral Facebook post alleging that Haseebullah had met with officials from the England Cricket Board (ECB) to discuss his cricketing future.

To date, Haseebullah Khan has played three T20 internationals for Pakistan, scoring 36 runs at an average of 12. He featured for Quetta Gladiators in the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played one match and scored 7 runs.

In his early T20 career, Haseebullah has played 35 matches, amassing 599 runs at an average of 19.96 and a strike rate of 118.37, including three half-centuries.
