Major Religious Party Exits Netanyahu’s Government Over Supreme Court Ruling
Jerusalem: A key religious faction in Israel has officially left Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, dissolving the current coalition.
According to the details, the split came in response to a Supreme Court decision that overturned the exemption allowing religious students to avoid mandatory military service.
Following the dispute, six members of the religious party resigned from the 120-seat Knesset, reducing Netanyahu’s parliamentary majority to 61 seats.
Political observers warn that this development poses a significant challenge to Netanyahu’s government and could lead to early elections.
