Ishaq Dar Meets Chinese President Xi, Reaffirms Commitment to Pakistan-China Ties

Beijing: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Chinese President Xi Jinping along with the foreign ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states. President Xi emphasized the significance of regional cooperation under the SCO framework.

Welcoming the heads of delegations, President Xi highlighted the importance of collaboration through the SCO, an organization encompassing a vast Eurasian region and a large global population.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed his satisfaction over meeting President Xi at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. He extended congratulations on behalf of Pakistan’s leadership, government, and people, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding Pakistan-China friendship and pursuing shared regional objectives.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing to attend the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, where he is leading the Pakistani delegation in Tianjin. He was received by senior Chinese officials, including Ambassador Ms. Yu Hong and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil-ur-Rehman Hashmi. The SCO, established in 2001, comprises 10 member countries and plays a key role in regional security through its Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).
